Model Highlights
Chevy's entry level car is the Korean-built Aveo, which is available in 2007 as a five-door hatchback or four-door sedan. Base prices start at $9,995 for the base wagon and run up to $13,510 for a surprisingly well-equipped Aveo sedan with LT trim. The LT, which is not available on the hatchback, adds dual power heated outside mirrors, 15-inch alloy wheels, power windows and locks, cruise control, remote keyless entry, and a CD player. For 2007 you can also get steering wheel mounted audio controls and an available six-disc changer as an upgrade to the standard AM/FM stereo. All audio systems now include an input jack for a digital media player. Anti-lock brakes, an automatic transmission, and a sunroof continue to be popular optional equipment. The Aveo's ride and handling are decent for a small car, and the back seat is surprisingly roomy given the compact size. Side air bags are a nice standard feature for car at this price, and the interior is better designed and executed than most vehicles in this segment. Overall the Aveo is a good choice if you're looking for an entry level car, especially if you value quality of interior surroundings over outright performance.
